One of the most interesting articles I have read lately appeared in the Feb IA magazine. The article points out that 11% of all independent agencies in the US were started in the last 2 years. In case you might learn that a new competitor you have not heard of shows up in your town, there are some interesting profiles showing up in these agencies. A business plan and full use of technology and social networking stood out to me. There are huge changes in our business taking place and to avoid being blindsided, we need to know what is happening, possibly right next door to our agency.
